Qualcomm Snapdragon G1
The Qualcomm Snapdragon is the Tier 1 G series processor. This will target newer fanless handheld gaming consoles and smartphones to provide efficient low-power gaming performance
Since this is a charge-efficient, low-power gaming processor, this is built to optimize power (to prevent quick heating) and battery (for longer battery life). To achieve this, this processor is made with the octa-core Kryo CPU paired with an Adreno A11 GPU.
Regarding connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wireless USB 802.11ac 11×1. Plus, on the performance side, it can support 1080p FHD video playback at 60 fps.
Qualcomm Snapdragon G2
For more powerful handheld gaming – what we see on the Steamdeck, Asus ROG Ally, and even the Nintendo Switch, Snapdragon has its Qualcomm G2 processors in store for them.
This processor will use the Snapdragon X62 5G modem that supports mmWave sub-6 GHz technology. It will also make use of Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 802.11ax 2×2 connectivity, along with support for Bluetooth 5.0 for low-latency connectivity.
Just like the G1 processors, the G2 will also use the octa-core Kryo CPU with an enhanced Adreno A21 GPU. In terms of performance, this will support FHD+ gaming at 144 fps.
Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2
This will be the most powerful G series processor. This is an upgrade to the previously released G3x processor (which was not a part of the G series processor). We got to see this on the Razor Edge handheld gaming device.
Compared to the G3x Gen 1 processor, this will have 30% more processing speed, along with double graphical power. Similar to the G1 and G2 processors, this will also have the octa-core Kryo CPU with a beefed-up Adreno A32 GPU.
Plus, similar to Nvidia RTX graphics cards, this will also have support for ray-tracing, dual cameras, super-resolution, and XR glass tethering. In addition, it will also have a 300 MHz sub-6 GHz cellular modem that offers high 5G download speeds up to 10 Gbps. It will also support the newer Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 7 connectivity.
