- WhatsApp developers are now testing a new way through which users might be able to log into their accounts without their phones
- Users will only be able to do so when facing an “emergency” situation and will instead log in with their email address.
- For now, this feature is only being tested for iOS users.
Did you ever want to log into your WhatsApp account without using your phone number?
According to new reports, Meta has been working on this new feature for some time now. Soon, you might not even need your mobile number to log into WhatsApp.
So how else can we log into WhatsApp? Meta is working on a new way to log into WhatsApp. Soon, you will be able to do so using only your email address.
So far, this has been touted to be an “emergency” feature – like when you don’t have a cellular network.
Whenever you try to log into WhatsApp from a new phone or your same phone (for whatever reason) – WhatsApp will send you an OTP to your registered mobile number.
However, what will you do if you don’t have cellular data or a network on your mobile phone? What will you do if you don’t receive your OTP?
Therefore, for such “emergency” situations, WhatsApp is working on a feature to allow you to log in with your email. However, you will still need your mobile number to create a new WhatsApp account and for all its other functions.
Moreover, WhatsApp is testing this feature only for iPhone and iPad users. Therefore, we do not know if this will be available on Android or not. However, we hope it does since Android users will be getting the WhatsApp AI chatbot soon.
