The name Indiana Jones has become synonymous with lovers of adventure movies. Everyone has seen the perfect casting of Harrison Ford in the four Indiana Jones movies, which have defined our childhood.
Now, Todd Howard’s Bethesda is giving us a chance to actually play as the man himself in a new Indiana Jones game that MachineGames is developing for the Xbox Series X and S.

While not much has been revealed about this game so far, Todd did reveal that it will have an original story separate from the movies. Moreover, he has also stated that it will be set at the height of his career, sometime between the first and the second Indiana Jones movies. All of this has been revealed soon after the release of its first trailer back in 2021.
If you look at the trailer video above, you will notice that it shows a map. However, if you look closely, it is a map of the Vatican City. Moreover, you can see a small written text beneath it, saying, “I will arrive in Rome.”
Therefore, it seems that the overall story might be related to Christianity and the corruption of the Catholic church. Therefore, you can expect a story similar to the third movie – Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
Moreover, we also saw a few books like The Forbidden Stones, Ancient Circles, and Myths that Made Us. All of these point to occultism – and a story that possibly tackles the creation of humanity.
However, we also saw a plane ticket on the trailer, with data from 1937. Therefore, this confirms that it will take place a year after the first movie – Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
While this game will be made available on the Xbox Cloud Gaming platform Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One S owners will adly be left out. While we have no confirmed release date, we expect it to come out by the end of 2025. Stay tuned for more news.
